Bathroom Installation Blackpool

7 April 2025by btcadmin

Good Day All,

This is the second installation for G & M of Central Blackpool, which required more diary shuffling from Ade, Steve & Josh (Fylde tiles). See the earlier En-Suite installation here.
Not forgetting this whole process started with G & M visiting Blackpool Tile & Bathroom Centre. G’s main bathroom, as per her recent en-suite, had already been planned, whilst their en-suite was being fitted.
If you’ve read any other blog/project accounts produced by me previously, you’ll know I like to document the customers wish list.
I do this because customers sometimes change their mind/s midway through the planning/preparation/buying process.
G’s wish list for her main bathroom:
  • 1600 ‘Aruba’ freestanding bathtub (Scudo)
  • Tall square freestanding tap (Scudo)
  • 1000 x 1000 resin quad shower tray
  • 1000 x 1000 chrome cubicle (single door) ( Eastbrook)
  • 900 wall hung vanity unit in black with countertop sink
  • Tall chrome mono basin mixer tap (Scudo)
  • Open one side close coupled WC (Tissino)
  • 1800 x 452 black vertical aluminium towel radiator (Eastbrook)
  • 1000 mm ‘Bellus’ LED mirror
  • 1000 x 1000 ‘Leon’ grey marble tiles.
First job for Ade & Steve, was to sort a mass of pipes for first fix plumbing. This meant eradicating some lead piping which was a special request of G & M. Ade & Steve fitted the shower tray and floor base boards.
Next in was Josh to tile the floor and walls. Ade & Steve were fortunate that much of the walls had already been plaster boarded and skimmed by G & M’s plasterer.
It was at this point that G had a change of mind and decided to tile just the floor and the shower cubicle. Another special request was for the majority of the walls to have traditional ‘shaker’ style panelling strips to the rest of the walls to 1200 high. At least Josh could promptly tile the shower cubicle area and floor.
Next was the ‘shaker’ panelling.
Once the moisture resistant MDF was fixed to the walls, and new 9″ skirtings manufactured and fixed, Ade & Steve were dependent on the painters coming in to paint the panelling and skirts, before final fix of furniture could be completed.
First thing to be fitted was the freestanding tap, and the ‘Aruba’ bathtub was fitted.
NB the tiles and freshly painted panelling ⬆️
The vanity unit was next and was quite a statement piece with the basin resembling a mini bathtub in shape ⬇️
The 1000mm Bellus LED mirror is also quite an eye catcher.
The ‘open one side’ WC is a special order product. Presently, only one supplier has stock of this product. It is ideal, when the soil pipe exits through the exterior wall, which may be to the right or (as in this case) to the left.
Final fix of the shower cubicle was next on the list ⬇️
Final task was the Black towel radiator, which ‘G’ had chosen on the back of already having bought the same product for the previous en suite room ⬇️
G & M are delighted with this bathroom.
Ade & Steve have further work pending at this address, (a small first floor toilet room and downstairs cloak).
Further details may well appear here once they have been completed.
Many of the products used in this bathroom project are actually on display at Blackpool Tile & Bathroom Centre, for you to see personally.
Come on down for everything from Tiles, Bathroom fixtures and fittings, and all your plumbing needs. Open 7 days a week
Kindest regards
Rich
